Planning a Arabian/Aladdin party and looking for resources? We have what you need and MORE! Arabian/Aladdin Party Ideas Check out different versions of Aladdin, Thief of Bagdad, Arabian Nights and other Arabian themed stories. These are great for table centerpieces and to be just propped up around the party as decoration! From larger home decor stores (i.e. Pier One, etc.) you can often find inexpensive 'magic lamps' made from brass. This looks great as a table centerpiece...but go further and provide a pen and small pieces of paper for people to put what three wishes they would wish for on the paper and place the wishes in the lamp (making sure that you post that wishes will be read aloud.) As a party activity, read the three wishes from each piece of paper and see if anyone can guess who the wisher is. Of course, if you wish to exclude the activity, you can have the wishes more personal, NOT being read aloud to the other guests. DON'T THROW AWAY THE PARTY DECORATIONS! - Save money and do something your guests will LOVE! GIVE AWAY your party decorations! Use Aladdin posters (see below for inexpensive resources) to hang around your party area. Allow the winners of different games to choose which poster they'll get to walk away with at the conclusion to the party! Combine decorations with party prizes! For simple walls, try using standard cardboard voting booths. For a local supplier, check you nearest elementary school so see where they get theirs. These walls can be covered quickly and easily with butcher paper and positioned in any way to suit your needs and location. If you want to paint with a faux rock/stone finish (without spending an arm and a leg on those craft store kits) buy a few cans of spray paint instead. Brown, light beige and white should do the trick. With a hobby razor blade, lightly score the nozzle hole of the spray can. This will cause the paint to sputter rather than spray. Make sure the surface is covered first in the beige, then add some sputtering of the brown and white. Borrow some VCRs from some friends and have different Arabian themed genre movies being played throughout the event/party area. The great part about this is that the volume does not need to be turned on. The visuals alone are great. Check your local library for free videos before you consider renting. Hang movie posters from famous Arabian themed movies. These can be purchased through any number of movie poster companies online. For a more economical approach, nab them from the Internet and print them out on 8 ½ x 11 sheets of paper for 'mini' posters. Don't be afraid to use a little dirt for decoration. This looks especially nice sprinkled around the bottom of table centerpieces. If you've used cardboard in any way to build temple walls et. al., make sure to have a few 'loose stones' (individual empty boxes) laying about the foot of the walls to simulate the walls coming apart.
