Ask
your guests to come to the party "dressed up" with
ties and nice shoes if possible - like Bruce Wayne - and have
a set of black play clothes and shoes to change into. Take
pictures of everyone in their "high society" public
outfits. Then have them change to play clothes - request black
clothes so they'll already be in Batman mode - and provide
a cape for everyone. You can usually find some sort of plain,
cotton broadcloth fabric rather cheap and just cut small squares
for simple capes. If you have time to go to a thrift store
you may find black fabric tablecloths, sheets or even old
choir or graduation robes that you can cut into capes for
small adventurers. Take pictures of the group again - in superhero
mode - then, let the games begin!
DON'T
THROW AWAY THE PARTY DECORATIONS! - Save money and do something
your guests will LOVE! GIVE AWAY your party decorations! Use
Batman posters (see below for inexpensive resources) to hang
around your party area. Allow the winners of different games
to choose which poster they'll get to walk away with at the
conclusion to the party! Combine decorations with party prizes!
Make
utility belts with Bat-gadgets on them. For the belts, you
can get belts at thrift stores or use strips of 1-2"
wide elastic. If you decide to have the guests dress up (see
previous idea) then ask them to wear a belt with their outfit.
Provide small boxes, office supplies or craft items like pipe
cleaners, scissors, beads, cording, yarn and so on. The guests
can decorate their boxes - maybe have a list of super gadgets
for them- An oil slick, a lie detector, smoke bombs, a walkie-talkie,
a secret spy camera…it's entirely up to your imagination.
Attaching items to the belt - tie small loops of yarn or pipe
cleaners around the belt. Then, hook or glue a paperclip to
the gadget and the clip will go around the yarn loop on the
belt. You could also use Velcro - put the softer side on the
back of the gadget and the hook side on the belt.
