DON'T THROW AWAY THE PARTY DECORATIONS! - Save money and do something your guests will LOVE! GIVE AWAY your party decorations! Use Care Bears posters (see below for inexpensive resources) to hang around your party area. Allow the winners of different games to choose which poster they'll get to walk away with at the conclusion to the party! Combine decorations with party prizes!

This is something that the kids can help with, too. Using different colored construction paper (yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, green - in that order) make a rainbow chain. Cut the construction paper into one inch wide strips. Link the strips via looping chains (what one often might do at Christmas time). For best results, use TWO links of each color before moving on to the next color. A quicker version (though less fun perhaps) is to use the same colored streamers.

Use white butcher paper to make giant clouds! Depending on the size of the roll you are using, you might want to tape a couple of pieces together (butted up against each other, edge to edge) to make very large clouds!

Decorate the entrance to your party like they are walking through a bunch of clouds. Get a bunch of white batting and cut it into cloud shaped pieces. The more you can cover, the better.

Borrow a few DVD players and TVs and play a few different episodes of the Care Bears TV show or the Care Bears movies at different places in your party area (check your local library before you start renting them.) The volume doesn't need to be turned up on them - they make great decoration as the scenes change! These make great prizes for the end of the party, too (assuming they aren't library copies you've used)

Print a bunch of copies of different Care Bears and hide them throughout the party area. Beforehand, though, write a different number (or Care Bear name, depending on how many you plan on hiding.) Allow your guests the opportunity to search for them during the party as either a casual activity or structured game. At the end of the party, have a raffle for a prize using either the numbers or the characters that you wrote on the Care Bear images. In this way, even those who only found one cat will still have a chance to win the prize.
