Curious George Party Ideas

Decorate in red, yellow and blue. Use real bananas as weights for helium balloons. If you have Curious George books, set them up around the party - check some out at the library if you don't own them yourself. If you have a yellow hat available, wear it - you'll be Ted, George's caretaker! You can pass the hat to guests if they are leading a game.

Curious George loves to draw on the walls - so put some white butcher paper up on a wall for your guests to draw on. BE SURE they know which wall and ONLY that area of the wall.

Play a Curious George version of follow the leader. Have someone be "it" - wearing the yellow hat? - and they can stand in the middle of the circle. Whatever actions they do, everyone else has to copy. Animal sounds and movements would be most appropriate for a Curious George party

Everyone can be Curious George for the day - make tails out of long strips of brown fabric and safety pin the tails to the back of the guests. Don't make it too long, or you may have trouble with tripping monkeys! Use brown craft foam and cut out monkey ears - attach them to headbands.

Serve Curious George food. Make frozen banana treats - peel a banana and cut in half. Put a popsicle stick through the flat side of the banana (make sure it goes at least half way into the banana.) Put the bananas in a freezer bag and freeze for 2-3 hours. When you take them out of the freezer, you can dip the bananas in a chocolate sauce or yogurt and serve. Try making a jungle mix of dried fruits, coconut shreds, chocolate or yogurt chips…whatever your guests would enjoy and you can afford.

Curious George birthday cake. You can make a traditional cake in the shape of a monkey… a circle cake with a few cupcakes for the ears and nose. Or bake banana bread for a change in treats. Or offer banana splits with banana chips on the side. Frozen chocolate bananas would be great, too.

Curious George beach ball fun! Get a bunch of beach balls and blow them up. Put them in a play area for your party and let your guests go at it! Bubbles would also be fun to play with.
