Florida Gators Party Ideas

Here’s a fun game that can be played throughout the duration of your party. Cut out a bunch of football images (or players on the Florida Gators teams - images found online.) You’ll need multiple copies of each image so that multiple party guests can find them. On the backs of each of the images, write a number between 1 and 3. These images will then be hid all throughout your party space. Be sure to hide the images with a 1 on the back in easier places and the ones with a ‘3’ in the most difficult to find places. Explain to your guests that they’ll need to find the images (either footballs or the players) before the party is over. Explain that the winner will be determined not by who found the most, but rather who has the most number of points (the numbers on the backs of the images represent the points earned for finding that image.)

Visit your local large toy store and check out their summer items. This is a great place to pick up some inflatable alligators (normally used for pools.) These can be great to use as part of your centerpieces or as large decorations for your party space. For smaller kids on warmer days, you can create a balance beam to walk across over a kiddie pool. Fill the pool with water and place a few inflatable alligators in the water. The goal is to walk across a board set across the top of the pool without falling off. For added difficulty, the other kids can use squirt guns to try and knock them off!

Play a few rounds of football themed Bingo. This is a great activity to play while watching the game during commercial time or every time someone scores during the game. You can either create your own boards or download some HERE.

From online beading stores you can order alligator teeth. These can be fun to use as cake decoration or as part of your centerpiece - for a more ‘edgier’ feel!

Alligator meat can be purchased from many world market grocery stores. It can also be ordered online, but if you find it locally then you won’t have to pay for shipping. The flavor is mild and can be used in a variety of recipes found online. An alligator gumbo is a safe dish for everyone to try…making for adventure!

A great kids game (and for more energetic adults) is to have each player lay on the ground wearing full football pads (all of them.) When you say GO, the party guest wearing the full pads must stand up and lay back down as many times as they can in one minute. This is tough to do WITHOUT the pads, with the pads it’s even more crazy!

When purchasing team print napkins and plates, pick up an extra package of each and use them for decoration! They can be some of the least expensive and festive decorations you can use for your party. Napkins that are unfolded can be hung up, place inside clear bowls for centerpieces and taped up just about anywhere. The plates can be hung from the ceiling and the walls. It’s a simple idea, but a great way to add volume to your decorating without breaking the budget (see below for team print napkins and plate options.)
