If
you have a large cement driveway or patio space that you will
be using for your Louisiana State Tigers party, consider taking
sidewalk chalk and drawing the yard lines of a standard football
field. Of course, you wont get all of the yard markers
in the space, however at least getting in the 50 yard line
or even the end zone can be fun!
For
fun invitations, consider buying a stack of empty popcorn
bags! You can either write all of the information directly
onto the bags (opting to or not fill the bags with popcorn
before hand delivering them) or putting the information on
a card and placing them INSIDE the bag of popcorn (again,
you choosing whether or not to fill the bag with popcorn.)
This will definitely set a fun tone for your guests before
your Louisiana State Tigers party even begins!
Play
a few rounds of football themed Bingo. This is a great activity
to play while watching the game during commercial time or
every time someone scores during the game. You can either
create your own boards or download some HERE.
Cut
out as many paw prints as you can from construction paper
using either black and orange (for tigers) or the Louisiana
State school colors. Check online for images of tiger prints
for best results. These look great either taped to the floor
leading to your party space or along the walls of your actual
party area! They are easy and cheap to make
and something
that the kids would love to help with!
Check
for upcoming sales at your local fabric store (Joanns
is great for having 40% off coupons that come in the mail
to those on their mailing list.) A variety of fabrics in the
Louisiana State Tigers colors can be purchased. Sometimes
you can even get lucky to find images/prints that will also
work within the theme. The fabric can be used to swag on windows
and over tables as part of a tablecloth display. Cutting the
fabric into small squares will also provide for amazing napkins!
Visit
your local scrapbooking store and check out there individual
print pages. These make for GREAT table place mats or as a
base for your centerpiece. They are very inexpensive (typically
60 cents a piece) and can be found in a variety of colors
and prints. If you live in the city of the team, you can often
find Tigers theme pages!
For
a fun tablecloth, cover the table with white butcher paper
and paint a message right on the paper - something like GO
TIGERS!
When
purchasing team print napkins and plates, pick up an extra
package of each and use them for decoration! They can be some
of the least expensive and festive decorations you can use
for your party. Napkins that are unfolded can be hung up,
place inside clear bowls for centerpieces and taped up just
about anywhere. The plates can be hung from the ceiling and
the walls. Its a simple idea, but a great way to add
volume to your decorating without breaking the budget (see
below for team print napkins and plate options.)
