35. You can make a great looking "bomb" for your
event. The villain can hide it and your guests have to dismantle
or disarm the bomb by a certain time to save the city. What
you'll need
1½"
or ¾" PVC pipe
small saw or PVC cutter
red spray paint - for painting plastics
black electrical tape
small amount of white clay (scavenge your kid's?)
Electrical wire of different colors - scraps of electrical
wire
Your
local hardware store should carry PVC pipe and they come in
lengths of about 10 feet. Often times the store will cut the
pipe for you, or you can use your own simple saw to cut the
pipe into 1 or 1.5 foot lengths. (We recently purchased a
"PVC pipe cutter" for about $8, but that's only
practical if you think you'll be needing piping for other
projects) Spray paint the pipe lengths red, following the
directions on the product. Determine how many sticks of dynamite
you need - then take a number of pipes and strap them together
with the black electrical tape. You may want to tie the pipes
with string or yarn so they are stable for you to tape together
- or recruit a helper to hold the pipes while you tape them
together. Attach some white sculpting clay on top of the pipes,
around the middle of the bundle. Finally, take some electrical
wire of different colors, if possible, cut short lengths of
about 4-6 inches. Stick both ends of the wire in the clay,
making loops of the wires. Take about 10-12 inches of red
piece of wire and wrap it tightly around a rolling pin. This
is creating a coil. Stick one end of the coil in the clay
and the other end inside one of the hollow pipes. (It can
be loose in the pipe because it's only for looks). This is
a GREAT looking bomb that you spend only a couple of bucks
on!. "
