look REALLY great
but you'll need someone who has a very
simple computer graphics program and the basic knowledge to
use it. Download some nice photos from the Internet of Vegas
(you should be overwhelmed by the selection you find on the
Internet) and load them into the graphics program. You can
do this by 'right clicking' with your mouse on any picture
you like, then selecting 'Save As' among the options. Save
these to a disk or your hard drive. Across the top (or in
any other place, depending on how creative you want to get
) put the words of the location (i.e. The Strip,
the Bellagio Hotel, etc.) Then, in one of the corners put
a large number
essentially, you are making a large stamp.
Once you have the image the way you want it, print it out
and decorate cut the edges all around in the fashion of a
large stamp (fiskar scissors do a great job.) These look great
just about anywhere. HINT: These can be done in assembly-line
fashion and can be cranked out relatively fast once you get
into the 'groove' of it.
your location. Invite your guests to one of your favorite
hotels (or create one of your own), etc. By naming it and
referring to that name you'll create a definite place and
time for your guests. It's amazing the credibility that is
given when it is given a name.
is now known for their commercials "What happens in Vegas,
stays in Vegas." Do your own version of the slogan for
your event in your invitations and decorations. "What
happens at Casino Night, stays at Casino Night", etc.
Vegas strip is all about lights! Dig out those white Christmas
lights from the garage (or borrow some from friends and neighbors)
and lines the path leading to the door of the event with them.
They look great and give the glitz of Vegas feel before your
guests even come in to the party. If you have enough strands
of the lights, these also look great outlining any signs that
you had made for the party (indoors and outdoors)
the background, play music from the original Rat Pack (Frank
Sinatra, etc.) It will bring back the 'old' days of Vegas
that many of your guests will remember!
is also known for its amazing talent bookings at the different
hotels and casinos. Showcase your own talent pool by organizing
a talent show! Encourage all kinds of acts (from the silly
to the serious) for maximum participation. If you want to
take very seriously (for larger groups) you can even hold
a competition, awarding different prizes for different categories.
An absolute MUST, though, is restricting the acts to a specific
time frame. Four minutes typically is best for a talent show
that moves and gets quality material (acts will work hard
to condense their talents to those four minutes, ensuring
that there aren't any acts that go on and on when the crowd
is waiting for the hook to come out!)
online vendors for Vegas postcards that can be ordered. These
make GREAT party invitations. There is a huge variety of postcards
to choose from (from every hotel) - have fun perusing them

giant poker chips out of hula hoops! Take standard sized hula
hoops and use them as a stencil to trace out the shape of
a poker chip. You might need to tape two sheets of white banner
paper together to get a sheet wide enough for the hoop. Once
the image is drawn (do a search for IMAGES on Yahoo for poker
chips for different designs), color it and cut it out. If
you have enough hula hoops, you can tape the poker chip image
to the hula hoop and lean them up against the walls at different
places for decorations. Otherwise, you can simply tape giant
poker chip images to the walls for the same effect
