Why not put up some decorations that will also double as game prizes! If you’ve opted to play a couple of games during the party (i.e. at the seventh inning stretch, etc.) then try this: Order some Washington Nationals posters and hang them up throughout the party area. The first person to win a game (whether it’s a score prediction game you’ve created or baseball Bingo) gets first pick of poster on the walls. By the end of the party, you’ve given away your posters and your party guests have party favors to take home with them! See below for online poster resources.

Hold a raffle while everyone is watching the Washington Nationals game. Ahead of time make sure that everyone is committed to one of the teams playing. Each time their team scores a run, hand out raffle tickets to those guests. At the end of the party, hold the raffle. In this way, even the ‘losing’ team supporters will have a chance to win the prize at the end.

If you’ve recently been to a Washington Nationals game (or are planning to go to one before you need to mail out your invitations), use one of the programs to photocopy the front page. On the backs of the copy, print out all of your party information!

Play Washington Nationals Penny Pitch. Set up a few Los Angeles Dodgers baseball caps (face up such that they could catch a penny if one was thrown its way) on the ground some distance away. Around the Washington Nationals caps arrange OTHER teams’ caps in a similar fashion. Each player is to throw five pennies towards the arrangement of hats, hoping their pennies land inside the Washington Nationals caps. They will receive 5 points for each penny that does. For every penny that lands in ANOTHER cap (some other team) TWO points are taken away from their score. Once each player has had a chance to throw their five, determine a winner by seeing who has the most points!

As the team colors for the Washington Nationals are blue, red and white - be sure to decorate all you can in these colors. A handy trick to blanket the space in the colors is to visit your local fabric store and buy a few lengths of fabric in those colors. You might even be able to find prints representing the Washington Nationals (if you live in that city). Many things can be done with the fabric such as draping it in swags along windows, adding depth of color to table cloths, even cutting into napkins!

Get your hands one wrapping paper in the team colors. These are great for decorating, creating table place mats, centerpieces, cutting into confetti and for making goodie bags.
